In the early Spring of 1916, artist Kawai Gyokudō went on a trip to Nagatoro in Chichibu, to draw sketches and go river rafting. Inspired by the scenery, he created this piece called 'Parting Spring', sprinkling petals of cherry blossoms on the screen.
