礫川亭永理 Japanese Silk Kimono

160.00

Named after Maruyama Ōkyo's 1780 ink & colours on silk painting; 'The Journey of Narihira to the East', 礫川亭永理 is rich in colour, silky to the touch and glistens & shimmers in the light. The perfect addition to one of our ethically handmade lingerie sets, our collection of silk kimonos are our take on loungewear.

It has been said that Ōkyo was the first Japanese painter to draw nude models from life, although he did not paint nudes and it would be more than a century before the first nude painting actually went on display in Japan.

This piece is an authentic Japanese, one-of-a-kind kimono made from 100% silk.
